Vision

A hunger-free South Florida, where all residents have access to healthy affordable food and no individual or family is food insecure.

Mission

The South Florida Hunger Coalition strives to eradicate hunger by acting as a resource, convener, and implementer of innovative health, nutrition and food security-related initiatives through collaborative partnerships with individuals, communities, agencies/organizations, and sponsors and donors.

History

The South Florida Hunger Coalition (SFHC) became an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2011.

Since then, SFHC brings together and supports as many as 100 different organizations across Florida to provide nutritious food as well as education and enrichment programs to families in need. The agency pulls together critical resources in times of need to help implement innovative food insecurity-related initiatives.

SFHC’s impact ranges from distributing fresh produce quickly to 1,000s of people or partnering with local chefs to deliver hot nutritious meals to students to putting boots on the ground in neighborhoods where food delivery and education programs are improving the lives of families.
